How Figma AI Credits Work

• Starter (free): 500 a month, with a cap of 150 a day.
• Professional, Full seat: 3,000 a month.
• Organization, Full seat: 3,500 a month.
• Enterprise, Full seat: 4,250 a month.
• Dev, Collab and View seats on any paid plan: 500 a month.

Credits belong to one person. You can't share them or give them to a teammate. If you're on more than one team or organization, each plan's allowance is separate and they don't add up.

Cost depends on the task. Figma's published examples:

• Free: AI search, renaming layers, and summarising or clustering stickies in FigJam.
• Remove background: about 1 to 5 credits per image. See remove a background in Figma.
• Boost resolution and other image edits such as erase, isolate and expand: about 5 to 10 credits per image.
• Figma Make, simple task: about 30 credits or more per prompt.
• Figma Make, generating an app: about 100 credits or more.
• Figma Slides from ChatGPT: about 28 to 72 credits or more.

Make prompts vary most. The model, the size of the change and how much of the project Make has to read all affect the cost. A 3,000-credit Professional allowance goes much further on image tweaks than on Figma Make builds.

Coming changes: Figma says the Figma Design agent and Weave tools will start using credits when they leave beta. Its AI credit FAQ says that's "in a few weeks" and gives no date yet. Writing to the canvas through the Figma MCP server is free during its beta, and Figma says it will later become usage-based.

Open any file where you have edit access. In the main menu, choose AI balance. It shows what you have left, what you've used and when your credits reset. Admins see usage for everyone under the Admin tab, in the AI credits section, by clicking View usage.

Figma shows a message in the product and blocks further AI actions until your credits reset next month. Non-AI work carries on as normal. You may see an option to request more from your admin, who gets an email and an in-product notice. Nothing changes until they act.

Unused credits expire at the reset, so there's no point saving them.

Only admins can buy credits, and they go into a pool the whole plan shares. There are two ways:

• Subscription. Pick a monthly credit tier. The price per credit drops at higher tiers. Month-to-month on Professional, annual on Organization and Enterprise.
• Pay-as-you-go. Pay for what's used, up to a monthly spending limit you set.

1. In the file browser, open the Admin tab.
2. In the AI credits section, click View usage.
3. Click + Add credits.
4. Choose a monthly tier and click Confirm, or click the pay as you go instead link and set a spending limit.

Current prices are shown in that admin screen. They changed on 25 August 2026, when Figma started giving 2x more credits for the same price on Professional and 1.6x more on Organization and Enterprise. Seat allowances didn't change. Price lists published before that date are out of date.

• Limit one person's paid credits. In Admin, open People, select the person, and choose full access, a custom monthly limit, or no access to paid credits.
• Turn off AI on Organization or Enterprise. Admins go to Admin > Settings, scroll to AI and change AI features for the whole organization or for specific workspaces.
• Professional plans. Figma's help page says "Once AI features are turned on, they're permanently enabled on your account." Admins can still limit paid credits per person.
• Content training is a separate switch in the same AI settings. It's on by default for Professional teams and off for Organization and Enterprise.

These are admin settings. Figma's help center doesn't describe a way for an individual user to turn AI features off for themselves.

"Link to join the AI beta?" has about 21k views on the Figma forum, but that waitlist closed long ago. Figma AI is now part of every plan, paid for with the credits above. If AI tools are missing, your admin has probably turned them off, or you're on a plan that restricts them, such as Figma for Education.
