A few of these come with caveats from Figma's own documentation:
- Underline on Mac. Figma's text properties article lists Option+U, while its shortcut list uses ⌘U. ⌘U is the more likely one. If it doesn't work, open the shortcuts panel with ⌃⇧? (Ctrl+Shift+? on Windows).
- Bold, italic and underline on Windows. Figma documents them for Mac. Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I and Ctrl+U are the implied Windows equivalents.
- Letter spacing. One Figma table lists ⌘ instead of ⌥. The text properties article, which covers the text panel in detail, says ⌥ (Alt).
- Lists on Windows. Not documented. Type - or 1. followed by a space instead. More in Figma bullet points.
How to add a hyperlink to Figma text
Highlight the words, press ⇧⌘U (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+U (Windows) and paste the URL. Faster still: copy a URL, select the text and paste, and Figma turns the selection into a link. Links can also point to a frame in the file if you paste a copied frame link. ⌘K doesn't add links in Figma; it opens the Actions menu.
Uppercase, lowercase and text stuck in caps
Figma handles case in the Type settings, under the Details tab, with four options: Uppercase, Lowercase, Capitalize and Small caps. They change how the text looks without retyping it. If a text layer shows capitals no matter what you type, check this setting first. A case option left on is the likely reason. Because the setting is non-destructive, turning it off shows the text as you typed it.
Strikethrough
Figma's help center doesn't list a strikethrough key. Strikethrough is one of two text decoration options (the other is underline), and you can apply it to a whole layer or to selected words from the Type settings. Underline has extra settings there too: style (solid, dotted or wavy), thickness, offset, skip ink and colour.

What is the underline shortcut in Figma?
⌘U on Mac and Ctrl+U on Windows. One Figma help page lists Option+U for Mac, so if ⌘U doesn't work, check the shortcuts panel with ⌃⇧?.
Is there a strikethrough shortcut in Figma?
Not one Figma documents. Strikethrough is a text decoration option in the Type settings, and it works on a whole layer or on selected text.
How do I increase font size with a shortcut in Figma?
Hold ⇧⌘ on Mac or Ctrl+Shift on Windows and press < or >. One key steps the size up, the other down.
Why is my Figma text stuck in caps?
Most likely a text case setting such as Uppercase is on. Open the Type settings, go to Details and turn the case option off. The setting is non-destructive, so your original text comes back.
